So basically before I make sub sections in the forum, I think it'd be good to think up a premise and stuff? I think we need some sorta catalyst that sparks some sort of interaction between all classes of people? and also before that, we probably need to decide on a world state - is this happening during inquisition, after inquisition? years in the past or the future? I think it would be neat if this was a primarily original characte focussed rp group - we can make vague mentions o characters from the game in passing maybe, like King Alistair and stuff, and who is the Divine, but I think it would be better to keep it to a minimum. I also guess in this regard, most player characters wouldn't be able to be Hawke's or the Hero of Ferelden, or the Inquisitor? I don't know I'm pretty open to ideas about this too however. ANYWAY once we iron out these kinds of details I think its also important to consider - will this take place in a single city, OR should we have multiple threads addressing Orlais and Tevinter, Rivain, etc ? Or would that be too wild scope?
ANYWAY yeah just. open to basically every idea atm!!!

not sure how complicated it would make things, though I've seen it work on other platforms, but I'm in favor of multiple threads standing in for going on in other settings. o/

YEAH I think that is definitely the best way to organize things. I think we could organize maybe a more plot driven story and then parts of boards where people can just mingle their characters? I also sort of assumed maybe if we had enough members people could make seperate sections specific to interactions between their characters and stuff.. hrm :3c

a major world event would be gr8 for keeping topics from getting too expansive (since the DA verse is huge) having a common goal will stop confusion with every character having completely different agendas- just depends on when it's set? Post DA2 up to around about Trespasser leaves the most wiggle-room, I think?

I think ultimately it would be easier to manage if things were more free form maybe ? Like I don't want to have to micromanage peoples posts and plots, and I think maybe coordinating an over arching plot device could be tricky - so I think maybe we have the roleplay board, and then within that we have maybe 3 different sub boards that are like, The Alienage, The Courts and... somewhere else... idk I can iron that out later but they can be. the general mingle post boards? and then from there people can make threads with different themes, so like maybe one post is set back when Grey Wardens had griffons, or another is setin the future, or in the middle of the Inquisition timeline and stuff  I think that would be easy! also in the roleplay thread we could have a character introduction thread where character gets approved (I'll write up a criteria or something for that I guess? obviously don't want to be too exclusive that would be lame) and also a brainstorming thread where people can throw out plot ideas and check for interest ! |

What if you had locations within a city where people could mingle? Like one city to start of but have locations like tavern, library, docks and stuff

definitely! want to keep things open so it's not too intimidating/doesn't seem like a 'club' to new people joining
only real criteria for character creation would be "makes sense in canon" i should think? and obvs, isn't already a canon character

Yeah, it'd be gr8 to have plot-based areas, and 'tavern' (or docks/'chateau'/country relevant place) threads for general in-character tomfoolery

YEAH what is your opinions on canon character stuff - I think its easiest just to exclude them, except maybe mentioning them in passing? like as an example, you can have a character who is a mage freed from the Kirkwall Gallows after Anders actions, so sort of has a vague knowledge of him, but probably isn't a close friend ? just because I think it could get kind of messy if we have a million peoples characters going OH YES I ROMANCED THIS LOVE INTEREST and someone else going me too and stuff like I think removing that element makes it.. easier... like I'm not saying no interaction completely, like maybe they've heard of the hero of ferelden but yeah definitely more of a brush by than. close personal relationships with these characters. ALSO what do you think should happen with Hero of Ferelden/Hawke/Inquisitor? I think maybe just revert to.. Bioware Defaults on them? so an original character on here could be a member of the Inquisition, but not the Inquisitor themself? I don't mind if people have a character who was a Hawke or an Inquisitor, and they can keep background story on their character and their life similar but yeah maybe not BE the Champion of Kirkwall or The Inquisitor. ye.
OR we could. Have one ? But it would have to operate on some kind of first come first serve basis ? :'T
I wanted this RP to focus more on the little people of Thedas anyway, the ones who aren't the Big Leading Hero Types but yeah. Whats everyone elses opinoins!

ALSO I mean thats assuming we ever gain more than. 3 members heh. If its just the 3 of us, maybe having a Hawke, the Hero of Ferelden, and the Inquisitor all in the same thread could be a wild time. That said, people could also have private threads specifically FOR their character AS the insert fancy title of insert you know what I mean ? Heh, sorry to be spamming posts, I've just got a tonne of ideas I wanna iron out I suppose!! :3

It's cool, I agree with you on canon characters. Like you can know who the divine is, you might have heard of someone in passing but probably won't be beyond that

it all sounds good to me. I guess I'd just suggest keeping references to PC characters in the absolute vaguest until we either get more people or decide that there's few enough that we can, idk, raffle off who gets to be The One between those who are here lmao
