Let's face it, Kirkwall was still a mess. Admittedly it was slightly less of a mess in High Town, but it was still a big blighted mess. One that made things like shopping and trade very difficult businesses to peruse. And if that wasn't bad enough, the pick pockets were out in droves. They mostly left her alone, but whether that was thanks to the Merchant's Guild or the bigger than she was ax on her back, Nevra wasn't going to guess. But they were still hurting her business. Wary nobles were harder to part with their coin, and if this kept up, she was going to have to do something drastic. Maybe she could find a Qunari to stand out front and ---No, no. No Qunari, they still were a little...uncomfortable with them. Maybe a big scary human. Yeah she saw a couple at the forge the other day. Maybe one would like a few days off where they just have to stand outside her door and look intimidating. Eh maybe not.
But! It didn't matter right now. She left that in her sister's hands while she went on an adventure! Okay she was just going to Val Royeaux, but still. Adventure! Okay it was just the Summer Bazaar, but this was the first time she was going without her father, or anyone from her family! And she was making decisions all on her own, and if she had her way she'd get the best silks and maybe a new ax. She couldn't get the chip out from the last person she hit with it, though that really had to say something about Templar armor right? Yeah.......anyway!
Humming as she strolled through the market, she was glad her two personal guards were keeping their distance and actually shopping with the money she'd given them. It was time they bought something nice for themselves, or their partners. Or both! She certainly gave them enough for both. Wandering over to one stall, she held up a bolt of blue sea silk and nodded, critically eyeing the weave and the dye before smiling brightly at the shop keeper. Yes, this would do, and if they had much the same in purple and red, she'd purchase those as well. Concluding her business there, she wandered off to a jeweler, wondering if there was anything there she could get for her sister. She was working so hard lately, it was tough to be the heir...probably.
Oh! And she had to stop and see her younger siblings while she was here, and make sure University life was agreeing with her baby brother. Such a list of things to do! She'd manager, she was sure, but not before she went to see Madame Snippy Snip. Nevra couldn't tell you why the wyvern head amused her so, but she always went and gave her nose a pat before she settled for lunch. Oh lunch, yes that sounded marvelous. She could keep shopping after she'd eaten! It was hard to broker deals on an empty stomach!
With her guards a few paces behind her, she secured a table for herself, and for them and smiled as she invited them to join her, but they had a few more things to look at.
"Yes, yes I'll stay right here! I know, I won't tell Mother," she assured, smiling as she rested her ax against the wall. Yes, this would be wonderful. A nice glass of wine, a hot meal, a wonderful view and just enough gossip to make the meal interesting. Perfect.
