Natriel looked at Eon's staff and looked away. He used it like a kid who was locked in his tower his whole life and never expected to hit anything but a straw dummy, in her opinion.
Natriel wasn't the kind of person to lecture anyone on staff finesse. She used her staff as a bludgeon for Creator's sake. But...
Wow, today was hot.

Anthy perked up excitedly. "Oh, are you going somewhere? I'd love to tag along, I am quite handy with a sword and I know so much about traveling!"
She knew, in all likelihood that the new found group probably didn't want her company, but that made her want to be in it even more. Because why wouldn't someone want to have her in their party? She was handsome and also charming and charismatic and attractive! Those were all good qualities for someone. She was also rich! That was such a perk! She didn't often have company for her travels and she was sure to be heading that way regardless. She looked at the rambunctious gathering of people. They didn't seem to be people-people. Perhaps they could use someone to be their ambassador. "I know several languages and I'm very good at.... negotiations!"

"Alright," Calanthe said in an authoritive tone. "Look, if all of you are interested in joining in, then you should probably know what we're actually doing."
Would it be worth splitting the reward money between six people? It didn't really matter to Cal; she would forfeit any claims on her own share if it meant moving on right now.
"We are traveling to Orlais for a book hunt. There's a reward for it, and all this help is appreciated, but I'm not sure how you would all feel if you had to split shares between six people. We don't even know the exact details of the job," she continued, gesturing to herself, Cato, and Amara. "But, if you're so set on coming with, then we have to get moving now. And maybe you should reconsider. Six people is quite excessive for a small thing like that, isn't it?"

Eon brightened considerably at Cal's words, beaming. "I love books! And you can make my share smaller, if need be. I can always beat up slavers or thugs for coin." He grinned cheekily, bouncing slightly as he stood in place. "At the risk of sounding totally cliche, I'm more in it for the adventure! And friendships to be made aaaaand that sounded beyond cliche." Eon flushed, embarrassed, and focused on polishing the twisting black wood of his staff. "Are we going on a ruins book hunt? Or a lost trove of ancient elvhen books? Or is it more mundane? I wouldn't care either way, but if it's some kind of tevinter book we might need anti-demon spells prepared.

"Oh! A book hunt how exciting!" Anthy clapped her hands together. She loved having some kind of goal for a trip though, that was such a quaint thought! She was disappointed in herself for not wandering with a set quest in mind in the past. Searching for things would also be immensely fun! It'd be like one of those puzzles the Tamassrans gave her as a child to determine her skills. She loved those! "I have no real need for coin, if that should be an issue with anyone, and I've been to Orlais several times so the geography is no stranger to me."
She probably shouldn't really turn down any coin offered to her, because when travelling what you get can run out so fast. Though Anthy had found many people to be quite generous with her. Either because of lust or intimidation, she did not have trouble obtaining what she wanted. It was a skill Juniper taught her, a strange sort of survival tactic, being able to get what you want from people no matter who they are.

"What are the nature of the books?" Natriel asked, fingers on her chin. It was strange to see tomes requested... She had seen the notice as she hitched her own. The college had enough resources to fund their own escapades; why are they tossing it out to random adventurerers? If the books were really so important and valuable they wouldn't truat it with shems, who will sell anything. Were they magical tomes? Something didn't seem right. "I also have no care for the gold. Split it four ways, I don't give a shit." Natriel finished.

"Shanedan, pashaara. Ebost antir vantaam vasheb-sa karatoh!"*
Well that wasn't meant to slip out. Whoops. There were too many people talking at once, and she just needed a full minute to try and think. She just needed a minute. She'd worked with bigger companies, but usually they had a clear leader. They were going to have to talk about it, but they all needed to shut up for just a minute. Her head was starting to hurt.
Stepping a few paces away from everyone, she paced a little while she thought, muttering in Qunlat under her breath. For the most part no one seemed to understand it, and it made her feel better, even if she didn't believe in what the Qun stood for. It was like talking to her Tama, just without her Tama. Oh..balls.
"Taashath," she muttered, rubbing her hands over her forehead, before tugging at her braid gently. Inhaling deeply, she closed her eyes, before exhaling slowly. She'd kill for a piece of elfroot right now. Or Dragon's Piss. The Dragon's Piss would be better, though she'd never actually had more than a sip or two. Returning a couple steps over, she looked at Cal, then the two elves, before the large female Vashoth.
She held her hands up, still not sure how to handle the situation, but it would be a good idea, at the very least, to figure out where everyone had planned on going. "I'm quite familiar with Orlais," she started, straightening her bracers. "Where were all of you intending to go? And..please. One at a time."

"Well. I've no clear goal really." Eon piped up, trying to not be too loud. Amara looked like she had a headache. "My only real goal was not get killed by templars. Red or not." He handed Amara a headache cure, the smell of mint and elfroot wafting up from the small pouch of herbs. He continued to polish the black maple staff, looking the group over. "As long as we don't go to any red-templar-hideouts, I'll be swell."

Natriel shrugged. "The Tirashan. The Anderfels. Orlais. Rivain. Antiva. Seheron, one day. I don't have anywhere to return to at the moment," Natriel ducled her head in an effort to hide her vallaslin. Although she was not cast out of her xlan, to be exiled even temporarily was shamcful. She hoped no one asked. The most pressing thing going on for me is the Tirashan but it's a... forest. The elvhen inside it are probably long dead, Falon'Din carry their souls."

Anthy's brows lifted in surprise. She had not expected qunlat, though she wasn't especially surprised. She knew many viddathari under the qun. Most of them were elves. She watched the stress explode off the woman and waited for others to respond. She watched Eon give her something, probably something to make her headache go away. She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and waited for him to finish talking. Then waited for the other to finish her piece.
"I was already heading to Orlais." She replied calmly. She thought about lending a reassuring touch, but the decided against it. No one raised under the qun would feel better just from a pat on the the back or a hand on their shoulder. That was some human society shit. So instead she kept her voice low but non-threatening. Giving some background that people would be comfortable with hearing would soothe nerves for everyone. "My mother lives in Nevarra, but I've been travelling around for around a year or so now. I was only here for a momentary visit before heading back out again."

Where did Eon get that, Natriel thought distantly as she examined the pouch in the Qunari's hand. It smells like that salve Keeper would put on my chest when I was small.

Was Amara asking for her response as well?
"You know I planned to go with you and Cato to Orlais." She sighed, crossing her arms.
It's only for a little while, she thought. I just have to get to Orlais, and I should be busy by the time we arrive there. I just have to make it there first. It shouldn't be too hard...
"And I have to admit, I'm not a fan of traveling with such a crowd," Calanthe added. This was chaotic. She chided herself: This is what I get for being social.

Why were all these people unsociable? Did they not know how to work with more than their ragtag, criminal group? The Hero of Ferelden travelled with, what, a dozen? And these shem couldn't travel with half that. "Since you are so fond of complaining, I'll address your concerns. I do not need to accompany. I'll continue to the Tirashan," Natriel snapped sourly. "Len'alas lath'din, tu u ae da'len ene shiral. Tel'enesal!"

Eon winced at Cal's words, sending her a sympathetic look. He shuffled through his herbalist pouch at his belt (one of the several hobbies he picked up) and pulled out another headache cure and offered it to her kindly. "Sorry, I just like adventure. And friends." He said quietly, giving her a kind smile. He looked at Natriel, pulling out the puppy eyes that had got him out of studying and homework at the Circle. The senior enchanters always fell for it, anyways.

Natriel scowled at Eon. Whatever sweet reservations she had previously shown were down the gutter. "Don't look at me like that flat ear, I know when I'm not wanted," she growled in a huff. Back to the Tirashan it is then!
Natriel glanced back into her bag. She didn't want to buy anything else in this market; her bag looked like it would do. She could scavenge the rest or buy it at Andoral's Reach. Andoral's Reach wasn't too far away. Her clan used to travel farther in a fortnight, anyway.
Natriel turned to the West exit. It laid at the end of the road that held the market.
